BillZap is a free GST billing app built for Indian shops. Make a proper tax invoice at the counter, put a UPI QR on it so the customer pays before they leave, and send it on WhatsApp — all without internet.
Example of voice billing: you say “do kilo chini” and BillZap writes Sugar, 2 kg, HSN 1701, ₹96.00 plus ₹4.80 GST at 5%.
Everything below is in the free app

Built for the counter
They ask you to sign up, then to subscribe, then to be online. Meanwhile there is a customer in front of you holding cash.
Revenue, what is still unpaid, what is running low and what you took today — without opening four different places to find out.
See every stageEvery bill is saved on the phone the moment you make it. A basement shop, a market stall or a power cut changes nothing — there is no server to reach and nothing waiting to sync.
Where your data livesOne app, no add-ons
From setting the shop up to handing your accountant the year — without paying for a single extra module.
Set up
Name, GSTIN and UPI ID. Every bill afterwards carries them.
What you sell, saved with its HSN code and GST rate.
Billing
Per-item GST, worked out and shown as you add lines.
Say the item and the amount in your own language.
Getting paid
The customer scans and pays before leaving the shop.
Every buyer's balance, sorted by what is most overdue.
The numbers
Revenue, GST collected and profit, month by month.
Cash in, UPI in, expenses out, and what the drawer should hold.
How it works
Five moments, from an empty phone to a paid, shared, filed bill. Press any step to watch it again.
Shop name, GSTIN and UPI ID — about a minute, with no account, OTP or email. Every bill after that carries them.
Pick from your catalogue, or say it in your own language. The HSN code and GST rate come from the item.
Same state as your shop: CGST + SGST. Another state: IGST. The place of supply decides, and the bill shows its working.
A UPI QR on the bill. The customer scans it with any UPI app and the money goes straight to your bank.
A clean PDF to WhatsApp in two taps. The sale lands in your reports and your GSTR-1 summary by itself.
Billing
The bill is laid out like a document, not a database screen: your shop at the top, the buyer's GSTIN, every line with its HSN code and rate, and the tax split spelled out underneath.
Getting paid
Every bill is colour-coded the moment its due date passes. The ledger sorts by what is most overdue, so the call you make is the one worth making.
Numbers
Revenue by month, GST collected split into CGST, SGST and IGST, and profit after expenses. Export any of it as a clean PDF or a CSV your accountant can open.
Compliance
Getting the tax wrong means reissuing the bill. BillZap does the parts that are easy to get wrong, and shows its working.
Same state as your shop and it charges CGST + SGST. Different state and it switches to IGST. The invoice screen tells you which one it has chosen and why, so a wrong place of supply cannot slip past you.
A month-by-month summary of taxable value, CGST, SGST and IGST, exportable as PDF or CSV. It is supporting data for your filing, laid out the way your accountant reads it.
Save the code once against the item in your catalogue and it prints on every bill that includes it, with the GST rate suggested from the item name.
Send the PDF on WhatsApp, or print to a WiFi or Bluetooth printer from the same screen. The rupee symbol renders correctly in both.
Your language
Not just the menus — the voice billing understands them too.

Privacy
BillZap has no account, no server and no analytics on your invoices. What you bill stays in the app's own storage on your phone. There is nothing for us to read, sell or lose, because nothing is sent anywhere.
Invoices never leave your phone unless you share them yourself, as a PDF you chose to send.
App lock with a PIN or your fingerprint, and a backup file you own — restorable on a new phone in a minute.
GST, explained
The rules BillZap follows for you, so you know what is on your bill and why. Reviewed 16 October 2026.
Under Rule 46 of the CGST Rules, 2017, a tax invoice shows:
It depends on where the supply takes place. When your shop and the place of supply are in the same state, the GST rate is split equally into CGST and SGST. When they are in different states, the whole rate is charged as IGST. In a union territory without its own legislature, UTGST takes the place of SGST.
| Sale of ₹3,740 at 18% | Tax charged |
|---|---|
| Buyer in your state | CGST ₹336.60 + SGST ₹336.60 |
| Buyer in another state | IGST ₹673.20 |
The total tax is the same either way; what changes is which government it goes to. BillZap picks the split from the place of supply and shows it on the bill.
From 1 April 2021 (Notification 78/2020 – Central Tax), it depends on your aggregate turnover in the previous financial year:
| Previous year's turnover | HSN digits on invoices |
|---|---|
| Up to ₹5 crore | 4 digits on B2B invoices |
| More than ₹5 crore | 6 digits on every invoice |
Services use SAC codes, which begin with 99. In BillZap you save the code once against the item and it prints on every bill.
Since 22 September 2025, most goods and services are taxed at 5% or 18%, with 40% for luxury and sin goods and 0% for exempt essentials. A few items keep special rates — gold, for example, is at 3%.
BillZap lets you set 0, 5, 12, 18, 28 or 40% on each item, so the current slabs are there and so are the older ones, for any bill that still needs them. The split into CGST and SGST, or IGST, is worked out from whichever rate you choose.
A plain-language summary to help you read your own invoices, not tax advice. For your own business, check with your CA.
Questions
Yes. There is no paid tier, no trial that expires and no cap on how many invoices you can make. The app you install is the whole app.
Completely. Every invoice, customer, product and expense is stored on the phone itself. You can bill all day with the network off and nothing is queued up waiting to sync.
They carry your GSTIN, the buyer's GSTIN, HSN or SAC codes per line, the GST rate on each item, and the tax split shown separately as CGST and SGST or as IGST. Place of supply decides which split applies, and the app tells you which one it has picked before you save.
No. There is no sign-up, no phone number and no email. Open the app and start billing. Because there is no account there is also no server holding your books.
Yes — the invoice becomes a clean PDF with your shop's name on it, shared in two taps. If the bill is unpaid the message includes a UPI payment link as well.
Put your UPI ID in settings once. Every unpaid invoice then carries a QR code the customer scans with any UPI app to pay you directly. The money goes straight to your bank; BillZap is not in the middle of the payment.
Speak the item and the amount in your own language and the invoice fills itself in, so your hands can stay on the goods. It understands all twelve of the languages the app is translated into.
Yes. Export a month-by-month GST summary laid out for GSTR-1, a profit and loss statement, a revenue report and an invoice status report — as PDF, or as CSV they can open in a spreadsheet.
Take a backup from settings — it is a single file you keep — and restore it on the new phone. Your invoices, customers, products and expenses come back.
Yes. You set the rate on each item — 0, 5, 12, 18, 28 or 40% — so the current 5%, 18% and 40% slabs are there, and so are 12% and 28% for any bill that still needs them. The CGST and SGST, or IGST, split is worked out from the rate you choose.
Whatever you save against the item — 4, 6 or 8 digits. Businesses with turnover up to ₹5 crore in the previous year need at least 4 digits on B2B invoices; above ₹5 crore, 6 digits on every invoice.
Yes — print to a WiFi or Bluetooth printer from the invoice screen, or share the PDF and print it from any other device.
