Vyapar, myBillBook and BillZap side by side: what each costs over three years, which works offline, who needs sync and e-way bills, and which one fits your shop.
If you have searched "Vyapar vs myBillBook", you have probably already noticed that every comparison you found was written by one of them. This one is too, in a way: BillZap is our product, and it is the third name in the title. So here is the deal we are making with you. We will give Vyapar and myBillBook full credit where they are better, show the real prices from their own pricing pages, and be specific about what BillZap does not do. You can check every number.
The three apps answer the same question in three different ways. Vyapar is a broad business app that grows into light accounting. myBillBook is a cloud billing platform built for teams and multiple devices. BillZap is a free, offline, no-account billing app built for one counter. Which one is "better" depends almost entirely on how many people bill, from how many devices, and whether you move goods across state lines.
The short answer
- Choose Vyapar if you want one app that covers billing, inventory, expenses and basic accounting, on Android and Windows, and you are comfortable paying about ₹4,000 a year for the full version.
- Choose myBillBook if several people bill from different devices, your CA needs a login, or you want iOS and web access as well as Android.
- Choose BillZap if you run one shop with one counter and want proper GST invoices, a UPI QR on every bill and a GSTR-1 summary, free, with no account, and working with no internet.
If you are above ₹5 crore turnover or you move goods worth more than ₹50,000 regularly, skip straight to the compliance section: e-invoicing and e-way bills will decide this for you.

Price: what each costs over three years
A yearly subscription looks small until you multiply it. Here is what each app costs a single shop over three years, at the prices shown today.
Vyapar. Gold is ₹4,319 for a year, so ₹12,957 over three years if the discount holds. Its list price is ₹9,099 a year, so if renewals come back at list, three years is closer to ₹27,000. Silver is ₹3,959 (list ₹7,499).
myBillBook. Pro is ₹3,990 a year, so ₹11,970 over three years; Plus is ₹3,490, so ₹10,470. Pro Max starts at ₹570 a month billed annually, which is about ₹6,840 a year or ₹20,520 over three years. myBillBook also offers a 7-day money-back guarantee and bigger discounts on multi-year plans.
BillZap. ₹0, because there is no paid tier. That is not a trial; the app you install is the whole app.
To be fair to the paid apps, the subscription buys real things: sync, staff access, e-way bills, e-invoicing and accounting depth. If you need those, ₹4,000 a year is a reasonable price, and both Vyapar and myBillBook are fairly priced against each other. The question is whether you need them. For a single counter that never moves goods across a state line, most of that money pays for features that sit unused.
Billing at the counter
All three make a GST invoice from a saved catalogue in well under a minute, and all three put your GSTIN, the buyer's GSTIN and HSN codes on the bill. The differences are in the small moments.
Vyapar has the deepest set of invoice options: multiple pricing for items, bulk item updates, orders and challans you can combine into one sale on Gold, and a large library of reports. It rewards owners who like to configure.
myBillBook has the smoothest multi-device experience: the bill you make on the shop phone is on your iPhone and the web dashboard a moment later, and its themes, barcode printing and POS billing (on Pro Max) suit busier counters with a scanner and a printer.
BillZap is built for speed with nothing in the way: no login screen, no sync spinner, no upgrade prompt. Voice billing is the feature people notice first. You say the item in your own language, "do kilo chini" for example, and the line fills itself in as sugar, 2 kg, HSN 1701, at 5%. The whole app works in 12 Indian languages, not just the menus. Every unpaid bill carries a UPI QR, and the bill goes out as a PDF on WhatsApp or to a WiFi or Bluetooth printer.
GST compliance depth
This is where Vyapar and myBillBook genuinely lead, and it should decide your choice if it applies to you.
E-invoicing (generating an IRN on the government portal) is mandatory for businesses whose aggregate turnover crossed ₹5 crore in any financial year since 2017-18. Vyapar supports it, with IRN and QR generation, and myBillBook includes it on Pro Max. BillZap does not generate e-invoices.
E-way bills are needed when you move goods worth more than ₹50,000. Vyapar includes 10 a month on Silver and unlimited on Gold; myBillBook includes unlimited e-way bills on Pro Max. BillZap does not generate e-way bills.
Tally export matters if your CA keeps your books in Tally. Vyapar Gold exports to Tally, and myBillBook Pro Max does on request. BillZap gives your CA a month-by-month GSTR-1 summary of taxable value, CGST, SGST and IGST, a profit and loss statement and sales reports, as PDF or CSV, which covers most small shops' monthly filing.
What all three get right is the invoice itself. Each applies GST per item, and each decides CGST plus SGST against IGST from the place of supply. On a ₹3,740 sale at 18%, that is CGST ₹336.60 plus SGST ₹336.60 inside your state, or IGST ₹673.20 to another state. Each also handles the rate structure in force since 22 September 2025, where most goods sit at 5% or 18% and luxury and sin goods at 40%. If you want the rules behind the invoice in plain words, our GST invoice guide covers them.
Offline use and where your data lives
These three apps are built on different ideas about where your books should live, and it is worth deciding which one you want.
myBillBook keeps your data in its cloud, tied to your account. The upside is real: lose the phone and nothing is lost, and every device sees the same books. The cost is that the app is designed around a connection and an account.
Vyapar sits in between. It calls itself offline-first: items, parties and invoices are saved on your phone or desktop, so you can bill with no connection, and paid plans sync the data across devices and share it with staff or your accountant once you are back online.
BillZap keeps everything on the phone. There is no server: invoices never leave the device unless you share them yourself, as a PDF you chose to send. The app works identically with the network off, nothing is queued waiting to sync, and there is no account to lose access to. App lock with a PIN or fingerprint protects it, and a backup is a single file you keep and restore on a new phone. The honest cost is the mirror image of myBillBook's benefit: if you never take a backup and lose the phone, the data goes with it. Take the backup.
Multi-device, staff and your CA
If more than one person bills, this section decides it.
myBillBook is the strongest here. Every paid plan syncs across unlimited devices and includes a CA login, and Pro Max adds three users, two businesses and a user activity tracker. For a shop with a manager and a part-time accountant, that is exactly what you want.
Vyapar offers sync, multiple companies (3 on Silver, 5 on Gold) and data sharing with staff on its paid plans, with a Windows desktop app for the back office.
BillZap is one phone. Your CA gets exports, not a login. For a single counter that is simpler and cheaper; for a team it is the wrong tool, and we would rather say so here than have you find out in week two.
Where each one wins
Vyapar wins when you want one app for the whole business
If you want billing, inventory, expenses, bank entries and an accounting module in one place, on your phone and a Windows PC, Vyapar is the most complete package of the three. Gold, at ₹4,319 for the year when we checked, is the plan most shops end up on.
myBillBook wins when a team bills from many devices
If billing happens on several phones, on an iPhone, or in a browser, with a CA who logs in to review, myBillBook's cloud model is the right one. Plus at ₹3,490 a year is the cheapest synced plan here, and Pro Max covers e-invoicing and e-way bills when you grow into them.
BillZap wins when one counter just needs to bill
If you are one shop with one counter, BillZap gives you a GST tax invoice in about 30 seconds, a UPI QR on every bill, voice billing in your language, dues sorted oldest first and a GSTR-1 summary for your CA. It is free, with no account and no internet needed, and you can get it on Google Play.
Who each app is not for
A comparison is only useful if it tells you when to walk away, so here is the other half of the verdict.
Vyapar is not for you if you want the cheapest possible way to make a GST bill and nothing else. Its strength is breadth, and breadth costs about ₹4,000 a year once you need sync or want Vyapar's name off your invoices. It is also not the pick if you bill on an iPhone, since its apps are for Android and Windows.
myBillBook is not for you if your shop has one counter, one phone and patchy internet. Its whole design assumes an account, a connection and data in the cloud, which is a strength for a team and an overhead for a single seller. It is also more app than you need if your CA only wants a monthly GST summary.
BillZap is not for you if two or more people bill on different phones, if the owner wants to watch sales live from home, if you bill on an iPhone or a PC, or if e-way bills and e-invoicing are part of your week. It is one phone, by design, and it does not generate e-way bills or e-invoices. For those businesses, Vyapar or myBillBook is the better answer, and we would rather say that plainly than lose your trust later.
The pattern is simple. Sync, staff access and compliance at scale are worth paying for when you have them as problems. When you do not, a free, offline app that makes a correct bill quickly is not a compromise; it is the right size of tool.
Switching from Vyapar or myBillBook to BillZap
If you have decided the subscription is not earning its keep, switching takes an afternoon:
- Keep your old records. Before your plan lapses, download the reports you need for the current financial year from your old app, so your history stays with you and your CA.
- Install BillZap and set up the shop. Shop name, GSTIN and UPI ID, about a minute, with no account to create.
- Add your top items first. Save your 20 best-selling products with their HSN codes and GST rates; add the rest as they come up at the counter.
- Add customers as you bill them. Regulars appear the second time you bill them.
- Take a backup in the first week. It is a single file. Keep a copy off the phone.
- Run both for a few days if you like. Nothing stops you, and the comparison will tell you quickly whether you miss anything.

FAQ: Vyapar vs myBillBook
Which is better, Vyapar or myBillBook?
Vyapar is better if you want one app that covers billing, inventory and basic accounting on Android and Windows. myBillBook is better if several people bill from different devices, or you need iOS and web access with a CA login. Both cost roughly ₹3,500 to ₹4,300 a year for their main plans. For a single counter that does not need sync, BillZap does the billing for free.
Is there a free alternative to Vyapar?
Yes. BillZap is free with no paid tier and no invoice limit. It makes GST tax invoices with HSN codes and the CGST, SGST or IGST split, prints a UPI QR on every unpaid bill, works fully offline and needs no account. Zoho Invoice is another free option, better suited to service businesses that invoice by email.
Does Vyapar work offline?
Yes. Vyapar describes itself as offline-first: your items, parties and invoices are saved on the device, so you can bill without internet, and its free version works on one device at a time. Syncing across devices and sharing with staff or an accountant are paid features. BillZap also works fully offline, with all data on the phone and no account at all.
Is myBillBook free?
myBillBook offers a free trial, and its paid plans when we checked were ₹3,490 a year for Plus, ₹3,990 for Pro, and from ₹570 a month billed annually for Pro Max, with a 7-day money-back guarantee. Check its pricing page for current offers.
Which app supports e-way bills and e-invoicing?
Vyapar includes e-way bills on its paid plans (10 a month on Silver, unlimited on Gold) and supports e-invoicing with IRN generation. myBillBook includes unlimited e-way bills and e-invoicing on Pro Max. BillZap does not generate e-way bills or e-invoices, so businesses that need them regularly should choose one of the other two.
Can I use BillZap if I already have Vyapar or myBillBook?
Yes. BillZap needs no account and installs alongside other apps, so you can run both for a few days and compare. If you switch, download the reports you need from your old app before its plan lapses, then set up your shop, add your best-selling items and take a BillZap backup in the first week.
The bottom line
Vyapar and myBillBook are both good products, fairly priced against each other, and either is the right choice if your business needs what a subscription buys: sync across devices, staff logins, e-way bills, e-invoicing or Tally export. Pick Vyapar for breadth on Android and Windows, and myBillBook for a team on many devices.
If you are one shop with one counter, the honest comparison is between paying about ₹4,000 a year for features you will not use and paying nothing for the ones you will. BillZap makes the GST invoice, puts a UPI QR on it so the customer pays before they leave, sends it on WhatsApp and gives your CA a GSTR-1 summary, with no account, no subscription and no signal needed. Download it free on Google Play.
Billing taking longer than it should?
BillZap makes a GST invoice in about 30 seconds, works with no signal, and costs nothing.
